Dublin district court substituted service

Does anyone know how long it takes (roughly) to arrange for substituted service through the district court in Dublin?

Is it something that can be turned around in a couple of days from the summons server's final attempt at serving someone in person? Or is it a more protracted affair?

    Thanks.

Its rule 10 in the superior courts

Courts.ie will have a page. Skip to rule 10

Thanks I've tried googling it and all it comes up with is general info about the conditions under which you can apply for substituted service- there is no indication of how long it takes them to process such an application.

Weve been deeply unimpressed by everything about the district court so far (e.g. they mucked up our court order by writing down the wrong amount we were due and then they didnt reply for over 2 weeks because someone was on sick leave). I just want to know how long roughly it would take to get them to approve an application for substituted service from someone who has had to use this before.

    Thanks.
