Just wanted opinions on a car we are thinking of changing to. We currently have a 1.8 04 avensis petrol. We are going to go for diesel as we are doing 300-400km per week and will be for the next 2 years anyway.
I’m looking at 2010 or 2011 Opel insignia, Skoda superb, ford mondeo, Peugeot 508 or Nissan qashqai.
Any opinions or experience in any of these cars would be very helpful, thanks

15k to 20k a year is lowish mileage and not firmly in diesel territory.

What is the journey type; urban, motorway etc and passenger count?

Actually the journey is a little further than I thought so 400km is probably the minimum, that would be mostly motorway driving. Many weeks we would drive about 600km and that would be a mixture of motorway and country road driving. Passenger count would usually be 2/3 sometimes 5.

We were thinking about a 2010 avensis too- newer model in diesel.

With passengers and the higher mileage the diesel makes much more sense.
