Home Mixing Rations

Just wondering do any of ye mix up your own rations for stock? We do it at work for milking cows and it has me wondering about doing it at home for the weanlings. Currently feeding about 60.

Wouldn't be feeding over 2KG/day and thinking of keeping it simple, maize, barley and soya. Quoted around 260/T for the Maize and barley for 4T of each (I thought it was steep enough but he "has to get back to me") and buying soya bagged at 430/T.

    44% Barley
    44% Maize
    12% Soya
Leaves it at around 280/T plus minerals..

Any thoughts or suggestions? Would you include hulls? Some will be housed next week with some hopefully staying out into December.

    Only 13.5% protein.
20% soya is around 17%protein and 25%soya is around 19% iirc. Seemes dear enough and a good bit of effort for wat it is.
I wouldnt bother with hulls tbh enough fibre in silage

Agree alot of messing for pennies. You would buy a standard mixed ration for a few more quid with less hassle.
