    Hi,

There's a new FTTH pole just 170m down our road and we are looking to get connected to it, our neighbours got connected to it recently and they mentioned they paid a fee to get the line from the pole to their home.

I tried ringing but got no answer. Can you assist?

    Thanks,
    James

    Hi there James

Unfortunately this is not something we would be able to assist with. You can contact the Sales Team directly at 1800503303 and see if they will be able to assist

The install fee for FTTH is €100.
Unfortunately you need to be closer than 170m from the nearest distribution point.
Is your house listed on this map?

That is weird as our neighbors have a long drive way and our home is closer to the pole than their house is taking that into account, the pole is just on their side of the road. Both of our homes are in amber zone but for whatever reason EIR have provided them with service.

FTTH availability is shown by an icon over your house on that map.
Is there a green or blue icon of a house directly over where you live? Does your neighbour have the icon?

sometimes there's no making sense of their deployment strategy :(

No neither of our homes have a Green Icon (showing live) or Blue Icon (showing planned). Our area is in a 'fibre area' but we both live to far away from the cabinet. We both live along the yellow 'rural fibre route' but we still aren't connected.

    Hi Kyle,

Do you have an email address I can send the problem to? The lady on the telephone didn't understand correctly what I was asking.

    Thanks

Eir are not the only company providing ftth over the openeir network, you have a good few options once it's possible to connect a line to your house.

If you put your eircode in here does fibre to the home show as available?

    https://www.airwire.ie/index.php/avail

Every ISP keeps their own list and won't install until you are shown as live on their list.

My eircode isn't showing up as connectable on the airwire checker but I'll send a few email around with pictures of the map and distances and pray something good happens. Thanks a lot for your help, really thankful for it!

The pole needs to be with in 200 meters of the entrance of the property.

No worries, here's a list of providers that offer ftth on the open eir network
    https://fibrerollout.ie/rollout-map/where-to-buy-ftth/
So you can try contacting any of them but I think airwire is the one that updates their list most frequently.
Eir only updates every 3 weeks.
