    Hi.

I am been made redundant from my exiting job after 11 years. I'm getting staturary redundancy. I'll be finishing up towards the end of November.
I have a new job lined up which is great but I won't be starting until 2nd of Janurary.
Will I be entitled to job seekers for the weeks I'm waiting for the new job or what other options do I have.

Yes you will be entitled to JSB for that period but may be penalized weeks if you are under 55 and your redundancy was more than €50000

If he has a new job he doesn't meet the "available for and genuinely seeking work" requirement.

Yes he does. He can be considered as looking for full time work in the mean time. The promise of a job in January may come to nothing.
