Are foreign women more approachable than Irish girls?

Something funny I've noticed, I'm in my 20s and have never dated but have been flirted on two times both by a 24yr old spanish lady at Nice airport waiting to board and two 18yr old girls sitting beside me on a flight to New York.

It seems to echo what lads say about how when they go abroad, foreign women are either more open to random approaches and/or they'll be flirted on with women. I can't ever say that an Irish girl has done that.

Generalizations are not good of course but in general (lol), it seems that women here would be hard pressed to give you the time of day.

I am dating a Brazilian Lady and I have never been happier. I find that she is more direct than any Irish girl I have dated. If she has a problem she says so, its resolved. If I have a problem I say so, there's not drama or tears about it, it's resolved.

I dont think Irish women do it on purpose but there is always an element of pyshic ability required "Fine" means you are in trouble etc.

Generalisations are well, generalisations, but I've dated Irish girls and a few other different nationalities and just find other nationalities easier to communicate with.

Foreign ladies are absolutely more free sexually but I put that down to the Catholic education system here and social shaming. Our sexual education is so so poor in Ireland. It's a huge problem.

Generally I just find them more confident and thus more likely to actually approach a guy instead of waiting for the guy to approach them.

Americans especially, I've had a few happily approach me in my time. I can't say the same about Irish women.

Foreign people in general I find.
When do Irish men ever approach women without either being buckled drunk or hiding behind their Tinder profile?

Does it not depend on the person rather than the nationality?

Foreign women are more approachable in my experience, our own tend to huddle in groups.

    This^

Irish people in general are very guarded and cagey when it comes to the opposite sex. I noticed this when I was in Australia.

That's just so's we can turn our ugly faces inwards. Herd immunity.

It does , but this being AH , it'll eventually descend into a rant about Muslims , Travellers , poppy wearing and Dublin.

Theres plenty of women in ireland who are flirtatious and confident enough to ask a man out, I wouldnt say its that rare. Several women I know from other countries have said that men in ireland are more reserved than in their home countries about flirting or asking girls out though, so could be onto something

Come now, we all know Irish women and potatoes share the same genetic line. It's what makes us so reserved.

What does it matter. Irish woman's are looking and behaving more and more like fat American woman's. They need some internet influencer to tell them to all get on a boat so we can torpedo it and start fresh.

We could probably get them all on the boat by saying there is a free doughnuts, leggings a penny's and an Inglot shotgun in every cabin.

    .

In your 20s and only being flirted with twice!

I really think that says a lot more about you than Irish women.

Irish women certainly flirt and if you haven't experienced it I can see how you never dated.

While women from different countries do act differently you certainly can't say they don't flirt. Maybe you don't know when it is happening because it isn't a direct proposition.

I did find women from other countries more direct it also seemed quite fake in certain countries where women seem to try to use their charms to get their way.

I am not some looker that women find gorgeous but I still got and get flirted with. Married an Irish woman but was serious with a French women. She didn't like French men much as they approach women on the streets and kind of forceful.

It is? What religion are Brazilian folk predominantly?

Way too much stock is put in this "catholic repression" notion. Middle aged Irish people and younger are overall far from sexually repressed now. There is actually an obsession with demonstrating how sexually adventurous you are.

Just before they start: you'll have loads of losers coming on here presently saying how awful Irish women are and how amazing their hot non-EU bird is. They're only where they are because the Irish women wouldn't go near them, and the supposedly amazing hot non-EU bird can see the benefit of EU citizenship. Shhh.

    Anyway, continue.

Agreed. I nearly always find the Irish men/women who usually go for other nationalities will criticise Irish people and say non-nationalities are the best.
Nothing wrong with going out with non-nationalities, but why do they feel they have to put down the Irish?

I've lived my 40 odd years in Ireland and never met the type of woman or man regularly described in AH. My friends if both sexes are sound. If you are always meeting a certain type maybe the problem is you attract a certain type.

Depends entirely on the nationality and culture. Some are warmer than others, on the surface at least. Some have a more "macho" culture where the men approach more directly, oft to the point of farce*. To the women used to that the more quiet jokey Irish bloke approach can come across as refreshing. There's also the exotic factor running both ways. So someone, man or woman, who has decided their "own women/men" are a washout will select for the exotic. The fish out of water thing runs strong too. So an Irish guy in Italy or wherever already thinking "foreign women are more approachable" will approach more and will filter out the "foreign women" who don't fall for his charms. I would say in general though that Irish guys tend to have more of a sense of humour and sense of craic to them which can go down well. Depends on the culture again though. EG I've found Russian women™ to be more serious and being jokey kinda falls flat. OH and less approachable than Irish Women™. I'd reckon IME anyway that a good mix is Irish and Latin.

*In my experience this is all show, because in relationships and especially marriage they're usually henpecked to death.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Irish people tend to be a bit more reserved until you get to know them and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Especially if you've found some impoverished non-EU citizen who barely understands your language and attached socio-economic-cultural nuances as well as the women from your own country and culture do. For the first time in your life you find somebody who views you as some sort of exotic God.

Yes, one could see how that might be attractive to the losers who feel the need to look down on Irish women.

How did you arrive at this conclusion? No one is looking down on Irish women. With respect, you're trying to derail the discussion and it's ineffectual.

I don't see people just referring to non-EU citizens. If you think all is nice with Irish relationships you might just be missing genuine issues. Some behaviour and expectations in Irish relationships are not healthy nor good.

There are plenty of Irish people of both sexes trying to recreate their parents relationships. Not sure if they lack imagination or just don't understand how to make their own choices.

I know polish women who don't want a polish relationship as it is quite sexist and much prefer Irish men as a result. While I know Irish women that expect the man to provide everything and work for the family and treat partners like another child to be controlled.

Some probably but there's always some. I love Irish women, was raised by them ffs. Been out with a Lithuanian girl and an English girl in the past and I wouldn't be too complimentary about the Lithuanian. Each to his or her own though.

I'll tell you something about foreign women. They get all the best stuff in the second hand shops! You'd want to be up at the crack of dawn to best them, and they seem to work in ruthlessly efficient teams. I'm in rags as a result of them and their fiendish ways.

There are Irish women who aren't repressed but it doesn't mean that they are more or less repressed than other nations. Why you consider that being free and not repressed equates to being put upon indicates more about you.

Being free of body and spirit does not mean doing something for somebody else. It means being free to explore your own desires and experiment with others. The fact you think standing up against this is not repressed shows you don't get it and are likely repressed.
