It doesn't. Linksys was bought by Belkin who have a long history of producing sh1te products.

Linksys use crappy bottom of the barrel Realtek wireless chips where Google WiFi use very decent Qualcomm chips equal to those used in enterprise gear by Ubiquiti and Mikrotik.

Belkin is just a brand. Nothing more. Their cables are OK but insanely overpriced.

It could be anything inside the box. You can only tell by checking the serial number or FCC ID or looking inside. Not just different chipsets but mad stuff like later revisions having less memory.

Their Wireless G USB Network Adapter had FIVE different sets of hardware depending on when you bought the card.

    Five different drivers.
Only some had updates for new versions of Windows.

Yeah Linksys has a long history too. They were great once when they supported the open source community (the original WRT 54g was an amazing router for the price point) but that changed when they were bought by Cisco who started cheaping out on the components. Soon they didn't have enough internal flash to store an open firmware and not enough ram to run it. Cisco sold out to Belkin when they had ruined the good name.

I'd have simply said "not worth anything near that price...." without going into nearly as much detail as those 2 lads above. They know their stuff. Steer clear.
