Halogen Heater v Radiator (single room)

    Hi

Thinking of buying a 1200w Halogen heater
I work from home a bit.

We have very basic zoned heating (upstairs and downstairs). Oil.

reason I am thinking of it is: if the room I am working in gets cold, as opposed to switching on the heating and then having to switch off the radiators in the other rooms upstairs, would it be work out cheaper to just use a 1200 w halogen heater?

    You can do

I'd have the oil on and have all rooms at the same comfortable temp

    Best for the house

Ok. But just based on my question though. Is it more economical to turn on one radiator in a room or use a halogen heater?
