    Hey folks,

So I have a Benetone oil boiler. I got a fill of oil yesterday after totally running out. Without bleeding I waited an hour after the tank was filled and turned on the heating inside, went out and pressed the red button and she tried to fire for a few minutes and then cut out. I left it for about 10 minutes and repeated the same but same thing happened.

I bled the boiler for about 10 minutes and kerosene was dripping out.

Now I notice that the red light on the manual fire button is no longer lit. However if I wait long enough and turn on the heating it fires for about 5 to 10 minutes and the rad start to heat up bu then it cuts out.

Anyone any ideas? I thought the red light would be on.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

When i change temps on the thermostat it fires up again for a few minutes before cutting out.

Stays on for 5 mins exactly at the start.

    sounds like a circulation issue

low in water low pressure circulating pump goosed or stuck

Plumber job i presume? When bleeding the long hex nut oil is only dripping out.

it sounds like a circulation issue but if the rads are starting to heat maybe not

but being a bentone burner it will have a Danfoss coil fitted to the pump which do give problems

if the red light lockout light is not illuminating I would first rule out circulation

    Same as Jimf says,
If the thermostat is at the lowest setting and you turn up the thermostat higher and the burner fires ,it is not a burner or an oil issue,This is why the lock out light is not lit.
Its can only be a circulation issue!
    a/ pump- is it circulating
b/ low water level in system or air in system or sludge in system

Thanks lads. Once i have it fired amd it cuts i have to wait another period of time before giving another go. Rads upstairs do start to heat though. Once i start the heating inside i can hear the danfoss pump running.

Just an update. Looks as if the grundfos pump is fecked. Going to come out with a new pump and thinks that should do the trick.
