Hey ladies and gents, please be patient with me here as i dont know much about this stuff

So im in my house about 11 years. It was a new build and has what i believe is called a pressurized system , i have a large pump beside my watertanks, which is bolted to the floor, its very noisey but i live alone and im used to it.

Now ive noticed revently its coming on a lot by itself. i.e no water is running anywhere. I dont appear to have a leak that driving this as the tanks done seem to be constantly filling.

1) whats causing this ? loss of pressure ?
2) can i just take the bloody thing out ?
