if you paid by credit card now is the time to contact your card provider and ask for your money back as they have not provided the service paid for. Don't let the card provider fob you off or try to only payback a portion of the cost..you paid for a full year.

Certainly it is an option to claim back from credit card company if that was used to pay for the policy. Were you affected by this?

Most home owners who have a structural (latent defects) warranty that is typically provided as a 10 year warranty on new build houses will not have bought the policy themselves. The developer of the house will have bought the warranty.

Many home owners will not even be aware that they are affected, as they will just be aware of the broker who issued the policy (e.g. CRL) and they will not be aware that Alpha insurance were the underwriters.
