Boiler making noises but no heating. I believe there's something needs doing with boiler itself first. I've pushed in the red button, jg made noises and then went quiet again. I googled but can't find the rubber pipe mentioned. Will try send pics.

There’s a bolt (usually 13mm) on the bottom of the pump, it needs to be open, the boiler ran to bleed out all the air in the fuel line from the tank. May take a few runs of the boiler to get all the air out. Use a small bottle or something to try and collect the kero so it doesn’t stink up the place

Google your make and model of boiler and you should find the diagram fairly easy. Alternatively throw it up here and someone will be glad to help locate it for you.

As mentioned above get a jam jar or similar and a rag to collect the kerosene, it will stink the place out. Also wear gloves, when that stuff gets on your hands you'll be smelling it for weeks.

Try the red button several times, that's always the first step

If it's a condenser boiler you might have to take off the casing around the on/off button to access the long nut to loosen it.

You'll feel like McGyver when it works.

I can't seem to put up my pics. It's a riello burner . It's red with a big 40 on the ront and there's a sticker saying the burner is set for diesel 35 sec oil. That's the only info I can gleam with my untrained eye with a dodgey torch and a crammed boiler shed. Does it being inside a boiler shed mean it's a condenser? I know nothing as the fella says.

You're gonna have to go back in home and put on an extra jumper and wait until you can clear some space and see everything clearly.

Not trying to be a smart ass, but safety first.
