Black Mould throughout property

    Hi,

I currently live in a ground floor apartment, that was built during the 50s-60s.

Throughout the apartment, apart from the sitting room and kitchen, black mould is developing on the walls, with the bathroom being the worse, although we do have an extractor fan.

We bought a decent dehumidifier, which helped a bit and sees us emptying 10 litres per day, but the problem still persists.

Any idea as to what might be going on here? Could it be a structural issue or just the nature of these older buildings?

Any suggestions on what could be done to stop this? It's even developing on the shower head, which is something I've never seen before in other property's.

Suit up, (boiler Suit and mask)

Clean all the mould out with bleach every last bit of it. Then dump all the cloths.

Have the bathroom extractor replaced with a stronger model with a higher flow.

Finally examine your ventilation in all other rooms. You may not have sufficient airflow. A humidifier needs clean air too. And you might have none coming in. If vents are blocked then unblock them, if you have none, the open the windows.

    Have you the heat on

That and ventilation are probably the main factors

After that eliminate any clothes drying indoors and have adequate extraction for cooker and bathrooms
