Pressure Issue

I have an old enough boiler (Ideal Mini S24), about 10 years at this stage, was serviced less than a year ago and I was told I'd easily get another couple of years out of it.

There has always been an issue with the pressure gauge showing really low but all worked fine and everyone that came out said to ignore it that's it's probably a faulty gauge.

Now today I turned on the boiler (pressure showing as zero) using the timer boost function and the boiler turns on and the pump kicks in but doesn't fire up, after about 60 seconds the boiler will turn off with a red warning light, if I turn off the boiler directly and back on straight away, about 10/15 seconds later the boiler will fire up and pressure goes up to around 2.5.

I've bleed all radiators and topped it up, there was a fair bit of air in the systems.

Still having the same issue though, heating as normal though.

I did notice the release valve in the hot press is a bit crusted over, not wet though.

My initial thought based on everything is that it can't keep the system pressurised with the release valve being the cause at present.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.
