Supplementary allowance whilst in college

Hi all, I've been in College now for two months. Over the course of that time my illness benefit has lapsed, and I now have a disability claim ongoing for over a month.
On Wednesday I will have to finalise whether or not I can continue in College this year. If I drop out after then, I will be penalised financially should I return next year. I'm really in need of financial support now, so I've put in a claim for supplementary allowance, but I am unsure whether I will be allowed anything given I am in full-time education now. Does anyone know whether or not I qualify for any support? Thanks

You will not be entitled to Supplementary allowance while attending college. It's one of the payments conditions.

Looks like I have to think about dropping out then. Is there anything else I'm eligible for?

Not while in full time education , have to asked the student union if they can assist you

I've already tried this but there's been no reply so far. Pretty surprised there's nothing in place for situations like this.

Just looking at the rules fro HAP and rent supplement:

You won’t qualify for Rent Supplement if you:

Are attending full-time education. However, if you are getting a Back to Education Allowance (BTEA) or are participating in the Back to Education Programme you may be entitled to Rent Supplement.

So basically if could qualify for BTEA which I missed by a month I could get even more money, but now I get nothing. Sounds like I'd be better off dropping out and going on the dole for a year.
