Hi there, I wanted to check two things.

    1. Who is the best mortgage provider and cheapest long term (without giving you cash back that you pay extra for in the rate ).

    2. Has anyone gone 50% fixed and 50% variable?

    Thanks!

Dont do 50/50. IMO the ECB is bound to raise interest rates so If you dont plan paying off mortgage early fixed is best option. Think TSB are offering a 5 year fixed intrest rate @ 2.97%. Not financial advice :-)

Assuming they'll all give you a mortgage surely it's simply a function of the rate and the time they'll give it to you. OP may want to do 50/50 to allow him to overpay, if not, go more for a fixed rate.

There are comparison websites that do all this online... Takes a few seconds to find the best rate. Best rate will depend on LTV and amount borrowed.

UB at 2.3% over 2 years is good.
