DFS v Diamond Furniture

    Hi guys,

We are purchasing a new build house and are in the process of kitting it out.

We are really struggling to decide on a suite of furniture for our sitting room. We currently have 3 options:

    1. An "almost top end of our budget" leather suite from Diamond Furniture. Have read a few reviews online about poor after sales service but nothing about bad quality.

    2. A "very top end of our budget" leather suite from DFS. Have read a few reviews online about sofas from here not lasting very long. If we were to go for this option we would need it to last a long time.

    3. A very affordable leather suite from DFS. This one is on sale and an absolute bargain. Given the other costs that come with kitting out a house we are very tempted.

We know the whole "you get what you pay for" etc but we are tempted to go with the cheaper option for now and replace in a few years if needs be.

Does anyone have any experience of purchasing from either of these stores? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Purchased 2x leather sofas from DFS, have them 4 years now.

Still pretty good condition, make sure you buy in a DFS sale, we got 2x sofas for the price of one, which made it much better value.

I purchased some sofas from Diamond in 2006 (before they went wallop then reemerged). The customer service was ok at that stage, delivery was a bit moany and granny. There was also a tear as I recall.

The product (a leather sofa) was not particularly good quality. It looked good for a few years and then bits started falling off it. I wouldn't bother dealing with them again unless there was some good reason.

However, I did also get a set of oak tables and chairs and they have lasted very well.
