    Hi there,
What are the rules on having 2 godmothers/ no godfathers or 2 godfathers/no godmothers in a christening?

Different denominations will have different guidelines

never heard of any RULES as such, certainly not on the Prod side

Under Catholic canon law you can have one or two baptismal sponsors and, if two, they should be of opposite sexes. However in addition you can have as many "Christian witnesses" as you like. So there is nothing to stop you having, say, one sponsor who is a woman, and a second Christian witness who is also a woman.

My niece has 2 Godfathers, no Godmother. Our parish priest had no issues at all with it. He sent them away with a DVD about christening's just so they both knew what to expect on the day.
