Other half dropped laptop and screen is fecked. Any tips on best place to source a replacement screen? Is it worth it? Looking at prices of buying a refurbished T410, wondering should I just buy another laptop and keep mine for parts if needed - aside from the screen everything else is fully functioning. Thoughts/comments etc.

I've ordered a replacement screen for my Cosmos IV off eBay from the UK (although it looks like it shipped from Germany). I'm expecting it early next week if you want to wait I'll let you know how I get on.

Screen arrived today. Took a few attempts to get it going. Had to clear static and then reattach the cable as I hadn't clicked it in fully. Glad to say it's now working perfectly.
    Ebay seller is notebookbitz
I emailed before hand to check compatibility and they replied within 24hrs

Still haven't replaced my screen, using the laptop with my pc monitor at the moment. I've been offered a donor T430 which is not working but the screen is working fine - simple question really - even though I googled it, I am still none the wiser! - will the T430 screen work with the older T410? Or would it be possible to transfer all the innards from the T410 to the T430? All help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No the t410 has a 14.1" screen and there's a 14.0" screen in the t430. As for innards, not really. What's wrong with the T430? If it had a failed disk or RAM then these components could be swapped. But things like the motherboard and CPU are different. Really I think your T410 is done, or at least it is now a desktop machine. That is an 8 year old machine, it has lived a good life! Keep using with your external monitor and make sure to back up all of your files somewhere else in case it fails.
