For those not using Freesat or Sky, the FEC has changed on the 2 Transponders the BBC use to broadcast their HD channels on from today, they were 2/3

    10847 V 23000 3/4 - BBC One / BBC One NI / BBC Two / CBBC
    11023 H 23000 3/4 - BBC One Scot / BBC One Wales / BBC Four / CBeebies / BBC News

The article you posted the last day was interesting about this change.

The FEC 2/3 allows 4 HD channels per transponder.
The FEC 3/4 allows 6 HD channels.

We will see if the quality reduces on the bbc channels.

    Hi
Do you think this will affect reception on my Panasonic plasma? When ITV HD chained their FEC it messed up the station reception. Thanks

It is possible. Panasonic tvs were mentioned as having an issue.

Thanks! This caught me out today and I had to retune

It’s to accommodate BBC Two Wales HD and the forthcoming BBC Scotland channel.

Just a heads up for anyone using a humax freesat box, powered up mine (hdr 1100s) yesterday and was greeted with the "loss of signal" prompt. I checked my dish and an old sky box in the bedroom and no problems with signal there. Thought the worst, particularly when a factory reset didn't work but I did another one having checked the two cable feeds at the back, swapped them over and this time did a reset without the cables attached. It worked and bar having to reschedule my recordings and rejig the box for iPlayer, everything seems good now.
Had emailed humax as my box is just about out of their 2 year parts warranty, so was just checking if the fault (if there was one) might be covered for repair/replacement. Anyway, humax in their reply said that the above frequency change had effected some boxes and a factory reset was needed to get them back working and not just a retune as some have said.
So if anyone or they hear tell of anyone with freesat box problems in the last few days, a retune or indeed a factory reset should fix the problem.

Shame I didn't google much last night about this.

I noticed this yesterday evening and ended up spending a wasted hour or so messing about with the LNB, cables and plugging in another sat box as I thought it had failed. In the end I did the factory reset as well and that fixed it. Didn't try the retune option as found that suggestion afterwards....

Having trouble rescanning my BBC HD channels. Used Autobouquetsmaker (I think) to make a Freesat bouquet months ago, but when I try to scan it crashes and forces the box to restart. Tried to update the ABM config file but says the versions are incompatible (2.9->3.1).

Formuler F1 box running openatv 6.1, generally very solid. I thought the rescan would be straightforward, but I'm now stumped. Any help appreciated.

Had the same issue with my Humax and living in an apartment at the moment so assumed I'd nicked the fibre optic cable coming from the communal dish when I moved the couch as it looked like it might be damaged. Anyway sky weren't interested in sorting it as I'm not a subscriber so had to join with the intention of cancelling during the cooling off period after they'd done the install. Tried the factory reset and all fine now so called of the sky sub.

Sorted this by uninstalling ABM and then reinstalling the latest version, rescan worked perfectly afterwards.

I wish I read this before wasting an hour and carting a pana z81 around house to test cables.

My bbc hd on freesat is pixelated after the update - an old g10 panny with built in tuner - i wonder is there any workaround?

The BBC have advised Panasonic customers to contact Panasonic about the issue

Yeah panny don't give a toss. TV is 9 years old.

I had the same problem with BBC 1 HD on my Freesat 1100s this week as well but just left it on for a while and it updated itself

Not sure the tv will update - but I'll give it a go.
