Extra Horizon box (Virgin Media)

I managed to get an extra unused Horizon box.
I was missing a load of naif channels (RTE etc.)
I performed a factory reset on the box and now have a 1908 error.
Is this box any use to me in a second room perhaps or will I need to involve Virgin Media?

To my knowledge Virgin don’t support more than one Horizon box per household - the anticipated Horizon multiroom box never arrived and at this stage in the product’s life cycle never will. You’ll need to get on to Virgin and they can supply you with UPC Mediaboxes for multiroom.

    Thanks for that reply.
Such a pity. I'm getting some channels but most say unsubscribed.
Ah well. At least I've a spare remote now

Its a horrific offering for a flagship device and I'm surprised you got it working as one per household is their rule. I have it since launch and its terrible. They have done nothing to improve the UI and after years of suggestions and feedback, nothing of any significance has changed. I'm strongly considering splitting the service and a switch to Sky for TV.

+1 IIRC the only feedback they took on and implemented was to give us the ability to scrub all recordings from a single series. UI is still pretty poor and lots of the time when drilling own through menus, you have to pause for a second or two or your next button will be ignored.

I'm surprised as you are 😂
Terrible box. But my options were limited with TV. Had very little options as no installer seemed to want to take on my little job.
The digibox the offer for the multiroom is even worse in my opinion and deserves a place in the 90s.

    Okay.

There is no suggestion that the OP is trolling, however, he appears to have had his initial query resolved.

To allow this thread to go further would invite discussion of something Virgin Media doesn’t support; and indeed, since they will only supply one Horizon box per house, effectively against their terms and conditions
