How or where does someone register their dog as a companion dog

I'm not sure this is a thing in Ireland. AFAIK only dogs trained by and provided by a recognised charity are considered assistance/service dogs.

OP what do you mean by companion dog? If it’s a pet i.e. not a working or assistance/guide (blind, autism, disabled or medical) certified by ADI recognised body, then all you need is a council dog license.

Therapy dogs do not have the same status as the above and we do not recognise the so called emotional support animals.
