As if the news on the eagles injuries is bad. Lane Johnson is questionable to start tonight against the Giants in what looks like it'll be a bad weather game with a high ankle sprain.

Eagles are missing so many players, hard for them to get going this season. Giants away on Thursday night football might be just what they needed.

Then the smart thing would be to stay up. What if they don't open? Then you'd feel stupid and have missed football.

If Lane Johnson can't go tonight and that human turnstile Big V is playing RT (He used to be able to play LT) and with Jason Peters not a lock to finish a/ or any game then we are goosed at LT as Big V will be playing at RT. Carson Wentz better have good health insurance.

Stupidly, that's my plan for the moment. Feck it anyway. I'll get over being tired but I'd be annoyed if I missed the chance at a 3 day weekend.

Think this is the week my Chiefs come up short.

I think the only way to beat the filth is to 5 yard them to death. Kill them by 1000 cuts

Giants are awful, lucky for them the Eagles OL is awful too. Eagles lead 7-3 midway through the first, if their offensive line get it together this will be a blowout.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,446 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

14-3 Eagles, Corey Clement with the rushing score. The first one was Wentz to Jeffrey.

Obj has become insufferable for me the giants should just look to trade him now he hurts the rest of the team with his attitude and tantrums which is significantly outweighing what he is doing on the field atm

I've seen the result of the game last night but haven't watched any of it. I mean it looks a convincing win but as an eagles fan I won't be getting excited as with all due respect it's only the New York football Giants.

I see that ESPN are all about it being time to move on from Eli.
Well I'd be holding off on calling it the end of his time until he gets decent protection. He has a decent QB rating this season, he has only thrown four picks through six games. The key stat is sacks, he has been sacked 19 times this season and the line are responsible for a lot of that.

Last night one of the sacks was a strip sack and Nate Solder recovered the ball and he got some credit for that despite the fact that he did an awful job and basically let Michael Bennett straight through on Eli. The whole line was awful, I'm not singling out Solder, just pointing out the ridiculous way he got credit there.
Last night Eli got about a second before he was in trouble on most snaps.
It just annoys how a big sports media outlet can decide to call it the end of Eli when clearly there are huge issues to be sorted out before you can call that.

Eli isn't the problem, but he is part of the problem, and has been for a while.
20 sacks already is a huge concern. Solder was always unlikely to be worth the contract. He was a good LT for NE, but not top 5.

Largely to generate clicks really. Saying the o line is bad does not get people sharing or questioning.

However if he keeps getting hit at that rate he may as well be done. He is 37. If he keeps going till he is 40 that is 2.5 seasons left. Call it 2 as this one is now for pride.

Giants have a lot of the puzzle but I don't know if they can get that offensive line working quickly enough for Manning to make use of. Having said that the only point to a rookie QB would be to train him up. Putting a kid behind that line is tantamount to murder.

What is it about wide receivers turning into insufferable divas? Thinking of the biggest divas in the sport, they're nearly all receivers.

His QB rating is decent because he is just completing loads of short passes. You go back a few weeks and look at the stats and it appears he had a reasonable game, due to the completion percent and the yards his teammates made after the catch, when his actual gameplay was poison.

The OL is a problem but Eli is making them look like an even worse group because he can’t/won’t move in the pocket nor try to push the ball down the field so rushers can go full speed at one point without any fear.

He is the worst I have seen in a while even last night he walked off before half time like i said if he was backing it up it would be more bearable but he's very much pointing fingers at everyone else

He's still playing well in fairness. He's very much like t.o. Not quite as bad yet but we will see if we get a sit-ups on the lawn interview

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,698 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

So having watched the game from last night it was a good performance from the eagles and the timing and you can see what another week with wentz has done for Jeffrey and Mathews. Jason Peters left with a biceps injury which may depending where and how bad it is may end his season and career.

I don't think Eli is the main issue with the Giants but as the years go by it looks like he isn't helping. Barkley is a stud and he'll be a superstar in this league. He scored a TD and only for a good tackle by an eagles player he could have had a second. He looks unbelievably hard to take down.

OBJ may be a talented WR but it seems he's developed that WR disease of believing his own hype a bit too much.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

I was highly critical of the Barkley pick, but apparently he is already one of (if not the) leader in that locker room, and coupling that with last night if it is any indication of what to expect from him long term.... I couldn't have been any more wrong. That guy looks absolutely insane, and despite such outrageous numbers given how poor seemingly everyone around him was and so many big plays, his best of the entire night was just for nine yards. That's genuinely one of the best individual efforts on a single play that I've seen from a RB ever since Marshawn Lynch earned the nickname 'Beastmode' all those years back against the Saints.

2:35 here, maybe I remembered it to be a bit more than it was but this is obscene.

If the Chiefs win on Sunday night against the pats(which I've picked they will) they will have a three game lead on the pats and the jags win the pats streak of getting a bye in the playoffs would be over.

Tannehill (shoulder) out vs the Bears today. Osweiler starts.

Helps our chances to win but even if we do it won't change mine or most other people's perception of the Bears. I guess we will have to wait for the Pats to visit Chicago next week to see if we are for real or not.

Just on elis qb rating. If I was throwing 3 yards behind scrimmage on every second play I'd have a decent qb rating too
