Hi, Maybe some will help me to understand this. In today's Indo was said:
At present, families with a net income of €47,500 who have a medical card, or get other assistance from social protection can qualify for childcare subsidies ranging from €50 to €145 a week depending on circumstances.''

I didn't know you can get any social welfare payments if you earning €47,500 net (or 60k as per new budget). What's available for families that have that kind of income?

Thanks but it doesn't look like what they talk about. I'm just asking generally if there are any social welfare payments (apart of child benefit) that can be received by someone with income of 47.5k (or 60k)?
I'm asking because it's quite unbelievable for someone with that high income to receive any social welfare? Am I wrong?

It is clear, only some childcare support.
It is almost impossible to have a medical card on that income, therefore very specifically targeted

That's what I'm saying. There are no 'other assistance from social protection' available to someone who earns 47k?

    Working Family Payment?

If you had 8 kids, and earned €68k gross, you'd qualify. That might work out around the €47.5k nett.

A child or other family member may have a condition that allows them to maintain a medical Card.

When returning to work after a long period of unemployment you may be able to retain your medical Card for a number of years (1-2 ) as an incentive to return to work.

Things like that would be covered under this measure.

If your on 47k with 5 kids or more then you can get WFP a SW top up for low income families.
A net income of 47k with 5 kids is considered low enough to get you a top up of €35 per week.
If you were on Jobseeker’s Allowance with the 5 sprogs before you found the 47k job then you can get the €35 WFP plus keep the €156.50 per week you were getting for said sprogs for a year and then 1/2 that for another 12 months.
