Looking to spread lime in 12 acres of grazing ground here, how many tonne would be required for this and what would the cost to buy it amd get it spread be?

Is it fine too late to spread it now?
How long before the ground could be grazed again?

Have you got soil tests done?
If not and it hasnt got lime in years you could put one load (20 tonnes) on 12 acres.
It costs €20-€23 per tonne to buy and spread around here. Not too late to spread, perfect time for silage ground.
Could graze after a few days.

Hasn't been lime spread in almost 20 years

I'd get 20 tonnes of it and spread it on your 12 acres for a start. More than likely it could do with the same again in a few years.
If you do a couple of soil samples in the spring before you put out any fertiliser you'll know exactly where you stand.
