03 Fusion diesel water temp display flashing

    hi , Ive a 03 fusion diesel, the water temp display started flashing today and the fan kicked in almost straight away after starting.
    Just wondering if its just water pump ?

    Sounds like the temp sensor has failed, and the ecu can see this so is flashing the light and running the fan, i don't know ford but seems like how that system might work.

    No joy, replaced temp sensor with a new one, still the same ��.

    Whats the coolant temp reading on live data?

    I presume you have checked your coolant level & checked for leaks... you will need to see the temp in for being went to the ECU & confirm the thermostat is opening properly. Bring it to a mechanic before fitting any other parts.

    Thermostat solved the problem, all coolant levels were fine, temp was reading OK on live data. Thermostat was jammed solid.
