Job seekers benefit question

Hello all, I have been awarding the Job seekers benefit, and it has been backdated. I am a mature third level student so I am only entitled to it during the summer, I didn’t know this so I only applied so I have just received word it was granted today. I have never claimed anything before so I am unsure how to go about collecting it. Is the backdated amount paid through the post office in a lump sum or does anyone know if i have to do this differently as I won’t be getting any further payments!

Thank you all for help :)
