Hello all, had planned to go look at and hopefully buy a Toyota Prius this weekend. Will be a 2013 model. Would I be mad to do so given the recall today? Would there be any benefit going to any particular dealer in view of the recall?

    Mod note:
This is the recall OP refers to

I wouldn’t worry about it. It will probably just be a software upgrade. Toyota are usually very proactive about recalling cars with potential issues, and it’s easy to get carried away in thinking the car has a chance of developing the issue. It’s important to note that the car is still the same car as it was for the last 5 or more years. The potential fault has always been there.

I’m not sure what the process for recalling Japanese domestic model cars that have been imported to Ireland is.

You won’t be refused a recall just because you didn’t buy it off a particular dealer.
