Counting bed spaces

Is there documented guidance on bedroom size and how many bed spaces can be contained in a given bedroom size.

For example something like this:

If a bedroom is >=8m2 (excluding storage) it is considered a single bedroom
If a bedroom is >=12m2 (excluding storage) it is considered a double bedroom
etc.

A single bedroom is considered as 1 bed spaces
A double bedroom is considered as 2 bed spaces

All of the above is correct with regards to planning requirements, and then this transfers over to private open space requirements.

Could you link to the relevant documents please? I got those numbers from various threads. I'd like to back this up with published documents.

Table in appendix 1 give you sizes required. Work on aggregate sizes if multiple units proposed. Storage within bedroom not included in area. Few caveats to this table so read the relevant section
