MK2 Renault Megane consuming more fuel than usual

Ive recently had an issue with my Renault Megane MK2 (1.4 98hp) where my fuel consumption has increased significantly.

I would generally get about 33-36 mpg with €20 worth of petrol but recently it has plummeted down to about 23-24 mpg. I pay between 1.44 and 1.46 per litre and I always get my fuel at the same garage.

I have recently changed the ignition coils as the old ones were corroded and I changed the air filter too, would they cause the excessively high fuel usage? The ignition coils I put in are Valeo branded.

My engine also misfires but it has done so ever since I got the car.

I also cant see any visible leaks or anything unusual from the exhaust either.

    Any help is appreciated :D

Sort the misfire out to start with. Did you change spark plugs when you replaced the coils? Is there an engine malfunction light on or anything?

I checked the spark plugs and they look fine, no corrosion or any kind of deposits and had the correct gap (0.9 mm) and no the engine light has never come on in the car, I checked it with an OBD reader and there were no codes.
