Worth getting UK tax refund

    Hi there,
Am sure this has been covered several times but couldn't find a thread related to it on a search of the forum. I have been working in the UK for a few years and was working from April - September in this tax year. I have paid a bit of tax at this point in this fiscal year in the UK. Is there any point in reclaiming it as i can just offset it against my tax liability here for 2018. Transferring it now with a weak pound would cost me and i suppose the main reason to apply for a rebate is repatriation of money. Are there any other specific reasons why i should claim it back - will it make Irish tax return easier when doing it for 2018??
    Happy for any advice
    Thanks

Revenue here know what foreign taxes are and aren't refundable - and will never give you a credit for tax that they know you can reclaim.
