Land registry & Folio maps

I am hoping to get advice please.
I sold my house in 2016 and emigrated to OZ. Banked a good share of the money.
Just got an email from the solicitor who I sold the house with. He tells me that the owners are now selling the house, their solicitor contacted him and informed him that the FOLIO maps are incorrect. Apparently the house in my FOLIO map that I sold is situated differently than what they have researched.
This is all news to me. I just inherited the family home (small  2 up, 2 down cottage) from my parents who had bought it in 1972. My parents would have been very honest. I just dealt with the FOLIO map as inherited.
My parents in turn had bought it from someone else. This house/cottage is 150 years +
I rang my solicitor who said not to worry. I said I just sold what I had inherited.
Should the people  not have checked all this out before buying?
Is there any chance they can sue me?
I have no clue what come back they have on me... am I worrying too much?
    Any advice please!

The issue is now theirs to tidy up. Effectively they will need to get a survey done by a qualified engineer and have the Folio maps updated via their solicitor based on that survey.

Its all on them to do.

Their solicitor should have raised this issue when you were selling, they didn't and now it's not your problem.

Vendor's problem not yours! Get them to go the guy who signed the map! Besides, you are in Oz-are they going to extradite you back to Ireland!
