Hi, Thinking of buying a 4 bed semi in the final phase of the Ashfield development in Swords. Theyre quite pricey at 435k but can just about afford. Currently renting elsewhere in Swords and love the town. anyone currently living in Ashfield with any opinions/advice?

Hi - bought a 3 bed semi-detached and moved in very late last year. Haven't had any issues so far, so happy with the area and neighbours etc. All professional couples and families. There are x amount of social housing units (18 I think?) within the development (as is standard in all new built estates). There was some leaflets posted during the night anonymously recently stating that travellers were going to occupy these, but this claim turns out to be unfounded (there is a thread on here somewhere about it).

Houses are well built and very well insulated, during the snow this year the power went out in the area but the house held the heat so we didn't miss the heating for the day. The air to water pump heating system takes time to get your head around if you are not used to it (we are still getting used to ours!). Plenty of green space for kids to play, with the pitches not too far away, area is nicely located for shops (Rivervalley Centre not too far away and I read they are building an Aldi there), also the Broimhe Centre is really handy with the bigger Supervalu and pizza/thai take aways. Plus you are driving (or walking distance from the Village and Airside). Dublin bus/Swords express bus stops are within walking distance too.

Overall thumbs up, best of luck!
