Can i assume that one could plug in an i3 using a normal granny cable to a 3 pin socket and it will merrily charge away to 100% in 12 hours ?

33kw battery and granny cable does 2.2kw per hour. 15 hours from zero to hero. But it's unlikely you'll be starting at zero.

Yes I have a BMW i3 94ah and it will charge the battery fully overnight. Are you charging it from completely flat battery?

As above it should take up to fifteen hours to charge from zero on a domestic plug.

Plus if setting a departure time and pre-conditioning etc. then you won't have a full battery when leaving. The granny can't provide enough power to cover those

    Thanks for the replies.
I do a 200k roundtrip 3 days a week. Thinking of picking up an i3s Rex second hand in the UK next year. The commute would mean I would need some Rex power but i.can charge it overnight to full.

And don't forget, if you want to go for the cheaper night rate electricity, that only covers a 9hr period.
