Just curious. What's the largest car available here? I mean in an Irish dealership really. I'm thinking maybe a Range Rover, Landcruiser or X90. Anything bigger that you know of?

Biggest how? Length, width? Inside space? Engine size?

If you're talking pure size I think perhaps something like a Ford Ranger might be bigger than some of those you mentioned.

Although perhaps if money wasn't an object Ford Ireland might be convinced to sell you an excursion?

Biggest overall in terms of volume I suppose. Idle curiosity. Summer hols in America where I rented a toy for myself (Ford Expedition Max). I know such a vehicle would be impractical here, but I loved it and it just got me day dreaming.

Yup, totally get the attraction, used to drive a Dodge Durango in Canada.

Still wouldn't want to drive something that size around Ireland though.

VW Amarok, Audi Q8, Jeep grand Cherokee are all pretty big and on sale in ireland. Of course you could always just import something from the US if you are willing to go through the process. I wouldn't be worried so much about the size, as you see ridged lorries and tractors that are bigger flying around most country roads in Ireland, itd be trying to insure the thing. Imagine telling aviva you've an 8 or 9L engine, they'd have a fit (even though it accelerates like a ship despite being 300hp)

New Audi Q8 and BMW X7 along with the Merc GLS and Range Rover would probably be the biggest this side of the Atlantic.

Well you do have the larger minivan option too.

The likes of the Mercedes Vito or VW Caravan are quite spacious while also being economical to run.

Range rover is far bigger than the amorok or grand cherokee.

Mercedes GLS has to be a contender for the biggest car you can buy in Ireland.

True, but not really day dream worthy.

Would think so - if they're 9 seats or less, they're technically "cars" as in you can drive them with a B license. There's also a 9 seater version of the Fiat Ducato :D

    This yoke is pretty big

Rolls Royce Phantom is I think near 6m long, wouldn't be many cars that length.

There is one F150 on donedeal

Thanks for the suggestions. In terms of overall volume I think the Mercedes GLS is the winner, although my maths is not the best. Given that it's about the same price as my house I think it may remain a day dream... although I'm only one lotto win away :)

Oh you should have seen the old one :D
It made cars like the Multiple and Aztec look good. Wasn't much better underneath either, looked and felt like you were working on a Daily van :D
Some yoke tho. Real bus for old school Catholic families and unlike "big cars" that are built like ordinary cars underneath, this pig was definitely built for the task.
