Garden Shed Roof

Just looking for some advice. I have 2 large 16ft wooden garden sheds. Currently the roof on them is felt but the felt is gone.

The roof is currently plywood which is screwed to rafters and then felt put onto it.

For part of it I did roll out some new felt on top of the old but it doesn't really work and once we get any type of storm it is coming off....

I plan on putting box profile corrugated roofing. I talked to a friend and he said just buy large screws and put thenew roofing straight onto the felt and screw it down. It won't matter about the felt staying on top of the ply

Now I am wondering should I really pull the felt off and then screw the roofing straight onto the ply? would it make any difference? it will probably take another day to strip the roof down.....

My long term plan is to fill up the roof with solar PV as it faces the right direction

    Thanks

What purpose would it serve to remove the felt? If anything, it's an extra water barrier. Just make sure it's even before you put the corrugate on top, you don't want any water that does get in, pooling on the felt.

My only concern with leaving the felt on would be condensation and that would rot the wood....as you said it potentially could be extra layer

We did the very same as you suggested just last week, we used clearlight plastic sheets, just because we had them laying around. Left the felt on and screwed down through it.
Steel sheeting would be a better job alright

Have box profile on sheds here. If the condensation occurs, it'll be on the underside of the box profile but that will be vented by the corrugations I'd think in your case. I'd just lay it on top of what you've got. But make sure what you're screwing into when you fix it, is reasonably solid and not rotting.
