Just pulled a tag in error this morning that was 30 out of sequence. Does it make any difference to registering if I have one calf out of synch...it will be next year before back in sequence again

None. Do it here order half tags as Eid and half not. Eid for heifers and bulls get others could be 100 between sequences

Do the eid tags work on different systems calf feeders, drafting, etc?

Tagged one year in error, started at the highest number in box and worked back! Made no odds to me.

I stopped doing that because of the head melt when registering. The software picks up the next tag in sequence automatically but every time you changed from Eid to non Eid there was a fcuk up usually caused by the nut behind the wheel. Just gave up on it.

I was reading up on those EID tags today. They have no power source in the tag, but absorb enough power from the reader to be able to send back the tag number.

Sorry to put my non-farming nose in, but I was very amused when I saw a bunch of calves peering over a gate at me, they all had tags in and because they were small the tags looked enormous - but what made me smile was a group of them in the middle were standing in number order...what are the odds? :D
