    First episode is on now.
It just appears to be reeling in the years of TV3 news.

My first memory is of trying to tuning it in and not having much success and mainly getting into it when Coronation Street was moved to TV3.

It might be a rip off of RITY but I like it.

It might be a rip off of RITY but I like it.

I generally like these type of programs. I like looking back and seeing how things have changed, seeing what I remember, the styles(Maura Derrane's hair), it just sort of gives me a nostalgic feeling.

I remember when Ireland AM started in 1999, It all appeared normal at the time, looking back it is unusual.

    Maura's hair
    Mark Cagney has aged badly
Alan Cantwell looked like a teenager
    Grainne Seoige was Grainne Seoige
Would it be wrong to say I fancied Lorraine Keane back then :o

Reeling In The Years is itself a blatant rip off of the BBC's excellent and much missed 'The Rock n Roll Years'

To be fair, that might also be ripping off another show for all I know.

That was decent enough, the TV3 clips were interesting.

Strange to see TV3's history being celebrated a few weeks after they sent the brand and name down the dumper.

9/11 was like a movie, such a surreal day.

I remember an incident where Paddy Kielty was presenting The Big Breakfast on Channel 4, and they sent their Roving Reporter (Richard Bacon?) over to Ballymount to surprise Paddy's then Girlfriend Amanda Byram live on air while she was presenting Ireland AM.

The Presenter stormed into the TV3 set and also got on air (there was no security back then) but Alan Hughes copped what was happening and told the Channel 4 Presenter (live on air) he couldn't let him go on air as Amanda was interviewing some women who had had unnecessary hysterectomies and it was too sensitive.

Alan handled it very well, it could have been very awkward.

I member the trailers featuring Seinfeld before it went on air. It been all downhill since then.

I wonder does this mean we might not get RTES RITY 2010-2019 ???

Didn't watch this yet but big fan of this type of show and look forward to watching it

It's going all the way to 2018 but may have a brief break over the Christmas.

I watched this last night and for the 9/11 bit they played the same Enya music over it that was used on the 9/11 tribute video that cuts to the Benny Hill theme song so I was half expecting that to kick in.

The producers of Reeling in the years will not be happy with this but are we even getting RITY 2010-2019 ??

Its a good effort but a lot of stuff on this are odd and RTE would not have them on RITY like some minor enough government/banker scandals, Irish rugby footage of when we didn't win anything major etc

I'm must say I'm enjoying it but for me Reeling In The Years will forever be remembered for the great music the used from each decade.
I suppose Virgin Media will wait to see how it is doing in the rateing before deciding whether to keep going with it or drop it.

Both RITY & DLBIA individually contain stuff that the other program doesn't show, equally they show some of the same stuff.

No mention of the navan bus crash in 2005 where 5 schoolgirls died but included George Bests death
