NDLS “service”

Possibly posted in the wrong area.
My head is about to explode.
Sent my licence renewal application along with medical report two weeks ago and I’ve just had a call from the above crowd of incompetent muppets.
She can’t decide if the 8 in 2018 on the date is an 8 or a 6 and is refusing to process the application.
Wtf has happened to this country???
The bureaucracy and jobsworthsness is worse than it ever was in communist Russia.
I’m beyond words.

Outsourcing, my friend. They're all afraid of audits. If the 8 could be conceivably be read as a 6 on a spot-check then that could be seen as a fail for the outsourcing company.

You can request a copy of the medical back and you can bring that to your doctor who will probably just give you a fresh one on the spot. I don't know why you need a medical report, whether it's for a medical condition or maybe you drive group 2 category vehicles but if your licence is expired or expiring and you need it back ASAP, you should send in the replacement medical asap and follow up by contacting the RSA directly who can request the NDLS to rush your application - the NDLS won't do it without the RSA intervening regardless of how nicely you ask them. if you don't have the RSA escalate your application, you could be waiting a month to be processed.

Sorted. I’d already requested a copy of the medical to my email.
You can clearly see that the date is 2018 and nothing else.
I persevered and spoke to 3 different people (banging my head against a brick wall), only when I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager did I get a result.
I hope the first girl who refused to process the application gets a kick in the hole.

That's clearly an 8, how did she think that was a 6? Someone needs their eyes checked! :rolleyes:

They didn't show the date on the front of the form, no? The front page is the main one and the one on the back page could be ignored for most people.

In any case, I'm glad common sense prevailed.

The first page was fine, I didn’t post it here because it contains personal details.
Replying to a previous post, my medical is required because it’s a group 2 licence renewal.
What an afternoon though.
