    Heard this ad on the radio, sounded like a fair deal.

    Get the S8 for free, pay 40e a month on a 2year contract.

    Looking for holes in it...

    Although on the radio ad it said you could choose any provider, the ad on the web looks like it's either Vodafone or Eir.

    5gb data won't suit most people wither
    Only In-network calls are free

    Still seems like decent value eh?

    If I was going to sign up to pay €40 for 2 years I'd rather pay the €50 upfront for the S9.

    Actually that's only with Vodafone when you switch from another network.

    SIM Free in Car-phone warehouse for 579
    Monthly unlimited prepay plan 20 Euro

    579 +(24 months X 20 Euro )=579+480=1059 over 2 years on prepay

    40 X 24 Months =960 on Plan

    Outright purchase for SIM free and unlimited data and calls etc. is 99 Euro more over the 2 year period and the phone is worth more after the 24 months than a network locked one

    But the initial cash outlay upfront to be considered

    WiFi at home & in work.

    If you want more than just don't take the 5GB deal.

    You can get the S8+ sim free on amazon france, germany, spain etc etc for that price and the S8 for under €500
