    My thai wife got an irish visa, and is in limerick. We sent off the EU1 form, and received a reply from the department of justice telling us to go to limerick immigration/garda station to get my wife's passport stamped with a stamp 4 endorsement.
    Said letter also asks me to get a letter from department of employment giving details of benefits i receive or confirmation that i do not receive benefits.....Considering we will be submitting evidence that we are self employed and rent out houses, do we also have to get a letter from department of employment saying we do not receive benefits
    The letter also asks about health insurance details...do I have to get health insurance for just me or me and my wife. If yes which policy is best for over 60's who travel a lot. No previous conditions apart from the odd hemorrhoid which pops out.
    Going back to the stamp four endorsement on a Thai Passport, and our habit of traveling. I have searched the internet for travel restrictions which apply to my thai wife. From what I gather she needs a re-entry visa if she wants to leave ireland whilst only having a stamp 4. Also it seems she can go to england and be allowed in, but does the same apply to other eu countries

    Your Wife (while travelling on a Thai Passport) will need a Re-entry when entering Ireland, but it is free to the spouse of an Irish Citizen.

    In theory, when entering another EU state, (while travelling with you) she does not need a visa, but might need some proof that she is married to you. The UK was not always great with this, but post BREXIT, it might not apply amyway.

    A requirement for Health insurance exists as part of the Stamp 4 Visa, and the Goverment is moving towards make it a requirement for all in the next few years.
