Some UK tolls accept Euros

Discovered recently that the Tamar bridge and ferry accept Euros.

Asked about paying by euro on the Seven bridge and they will accept a 10 euro note and provide the change in Sterling.

I'm probably the only person in the world that didn't know this but just in case I thought l'd mention it as it might save someone having to get currency changed for tolls on the way back to Ireland by car.

Obviously you can use plastic and not bother with the cash.

I remember doing this on the London Underground thinking this was a brilliant service..

Saved so much time messing with tickets etc Left a very positive impression

Until I saw the credit card bill and the multiple charges for sterling transactions. Didn't think I was so smart then.

That's pretty much why I now use Revolut for almost everything

I was reading somewhere that the Severn bridge will be free from the end of this year. The bridge was paid off and handed back to public ownership at the start of this year, but the it was decided that a reduced toll would be applied for a year to build up a maintenance fund.

Not like here where tolls never end.

I just take a set amount of hard cash with me so never have those card problems. That's the only way I can limit my spending.
