it's a big chunk of a laptop but the cpu with integrated graphics that are better than intel will let you play some games at low settings. hd screen but not ips

would be worth adding an ssd to it to run windows off as that would speed up the operation. an m.2 sata card from amazon would do the job. you can get one for £20 or so for a 120gb size. would be worth getting a 240gb size for an extra £15 tho imo

    https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/532296/aspire-3-a315-51-has-m-2-or-msata-slot

basically if you want a decently powered laptop with some gaming capability then it's better than the intel equivalent.

if you have no interest in games tho then you would get a nice build of a machine with an intel cpu.

e.g. this is a nicer build and more lightweight with a better screen. has an ssd built in but it's a small size

the cpu is fine for most tasks but you won't be able to play demanding games at any settings really, only basic ones.

    Thanks for that Glasso

Just one last one to look at.
Like you said about the storage space, i think the 128 will not be enough

    This has 256gig
Just want to know if its good value for the money? or could i get a lot better for the same amount.
Its 50 more than the acer you linked. But i think better cpu & more storage space.

if you can spend the extra 50 probably worth it as it has an ssd drive in it already. it is also a good bit lighter (by a 1/2 kilo) which even for inside a house/apt is more comfortable imo. looks better too. same cpu as the acer in your first post. finally has a usb type c port which the acer doesn't have.

good value for the money imo

see that pcworld have a trade-in also for laptops not older than 7 years - can get 100 euro off on that one if you have one to put in.

I did buy an MSI Atom Notebook back in 2012 "bloody slow".
Will check it out if they will take it.

Well I got the 650 laptop today. Took along my old 2012 for trade in and they took it. They did some tests on it and it passed.
Ended up only having to pay the €550 so I’m very happy.
    Thanks for all the help!!!

what did they test, if you dont mind me asking - I have a Lenova z50 , battery is dead but runs fine on mains. Might have to swap out the ssd I stuck in it. Thinking of trading it in if I get the 100...

Doubt that they will take it without a working battery.
