Subsidised fees in relation to maintenance

    Hi all,
    I've been ringing around FLAC but haven't been able to get speaking to a solicitor as of yet, so am hoping someone here can advise as this is somewhat time sensitive.

    In the case of someone receiving a subsidy from a college towards creche fees, would the subsidy be considered part of their costs/contribution towards the child?

    For example;

    Creche fee is €1000
    Person A is granted a 50% subsidy on creche fees from the college
    College pays €500
    Person B pays the remaining €500

    Are Person A and Person B equal in amounts contributed in this scenario, given that the college provided the subsidy for Person A?

    Thank you

    What fees are actually paid by B - i.e. does B pay the full thousand euro creche fee?

    No, B pays the €500 remaining (i.e the amount after subsidy) and Person A pays €0.

    For what it's worth, the subsidy is paid directly to the creche.
