During a fast spin, our normende washing machine sounds like a helicopter is hovering 10ft over our house. It's no more than 2 years old, but sounds so loud. Any thoughts what might be happening here?

    Spin cycle I'd say :pac:

On a more serious and helpful note have to checked to see does it need leveling?

First step is usually make sure it's level...

Other than that, some things to consider in this video

Sounds like the bearings are shot m8, should be covered under warranty/sale of goods act though.

If you register a Nordmende appliance within 30 days of purchase, it extends the original two years warranty to three years.

    http://www.nordmende.ie/warranty-terms

Doesn't preclude a claim under sale of goods if you're just over two years and didn't register.

In case the appliance was purchased as part of a kitchen package (it's how a lot of Nordmende boxes are shifted) and the kitchen company attempts to fob you off on to KAL (the distributor), be firm and remind them that your contract is with the retailer. Because KAL will give you the runaround so have nothing to do with them.

Thanks guys, will try out the levelling part first. Then see about bearings.

Completely mad, but i have no idea where the hell we bought this, and can't find email receipts! Not banking on warranty so

    Post a video of it.

Are you sure you removed the shipping locks when you put it in?

Possibly a bearing on the drum shaft, it can be replaced but more often than not a new machine is on the cards as it’s a dog of a job.

It will leak water through the bearing as it gets worse.

There's possibly some little gas-strut shock absorbers (prob x2). I had a washing machine where 1 had come adrift at one end,

Check the pulley on the drum is tight. I've had that problem with a Nordmende w/m before. Rattled on spin but you wouldn't really notice any extra noise when washing. Put thread locker on it and no problem after.

    Where is the pulley Sean?

On the back of the drum. IIRC there's a small panel on the back of the machine (in the centre roughly) and if you remove that you should see the bolt holding the pulley on the drum shaft. I think you may need a torx bit to tighten it. It was my neighbours machine and I tightened it twice or three times and after a few months it would loosen again. Thread lock glue seems to have solved it as she hasn't had a problem since.
It's 2 or 3 years ago since I did it so memory is a bit hazy!
