    Hi there - need advice.
In 2015 my partner asked his 'friend' if he would rewire his house. This was a recently purchased property so it was going to be done during renovations. Being a 'friend' there was no contract or agreement in place prior to work commencing (big mistake), although he was asked a few times where costs were at and it was always "ah its grand". long story short - it was mates rates - cash job. In Feb 2017 we got the bill - on a 4x3 piece of paper. Materials c.6k, Labour c.12k. We asked for the back-up to this, which we only received in July 2018. Copies of invoices from several electrical suppliers and A4 pages of hand-written time on the job. We have already paid 6k in cash to him, but feel he is not owed another 12k cash. We can account for 90% of the materials - but definitely feel the labour cost is way over the mark! Especially since my partner helped him.
