I'd rather lose with a few lads from the academy in the team than some of these so called professional footballers

Leaving Coleman out is a serious error of judgement. He is still their best player and a team leader in every sense.

He's not our best player. Been poor for months now

    missing Gomes badly

which is worrying given he's the only one not actually an Everton player

But gomes played? Was pretty anonymous though but not as bad as Walcott

    good god

never mind me - my brain must have already been subconsciously wiping itself of all memory of that match

off course he did - went off for that lump Bernard

I think Bernard will come good but Walcott won't improve. We need a horrible ruthless centre half. Too many nice guys in the team

Walcott is another nice guy - him and Schneidelin really dont give a **** about playing , happy to soak up an obscene amount each week for doing virtually nothing.

Unfortunately he hasn’t come back from the leg break as near the same player he was. Hesitant in attack and defence and has lost his edge.

Kenny actually did okay. If he'd been part of a stronger team, he'd have fit right in. Problem was the lack of support. Walcott didn't seem to work any better with Kenny than he does with Coleman, making attacks down the right fizzle out more often than not.

Gomes needs a break, everything creative from midfield comes from him, and it's clearly wearing him down. He needs a chance to recharge. Of course, that means we'll be without our, by far, best player for a couple of games every now and then, but that's better than letting him burn out with nearly half the season still to go!

Even league two teams are making us look ordinary.

Next Sunday's game takes on even more importance. If we lose at home, again, I think we really are in trouble.

Not relegation trouble but it's the next 5 matches that we need to pick up ten points

maybe, just maybe this might become a reality - too many false dawns to be sure - and seem to be short of at least 100 million in Funding - getting Usmanov on board is the only way I see this actually happening.

I've stopped reading about the new stadium. It's been dragging on so long to really believe it will happen

But we're talking about winning the league in our new stadium? I need a drink

Until they turn a sod in the ground I'll not believe any of it :(

This stadium is absolutely going to happen. There’s no money in Everton remaining at Goodison. For Moshiri to get any return on the huge investment he’s already made, building a stadium is the only answer.

Bournemouth hit the post, could have had two pens and Richarlison probably should been shown the line.. sloppy for long parts of the game.

The goal at the end made it look better than it was..

But a win is a win.

One positive though - Lookman is the business. Needs more game time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,758 ✭✭✭Laois_Man

Well maybe a little bit of balance is in order.

Keane hit the bar and they flukily cleared one off the line and the referee was so bias against us, it was a disgrace. (5-0 on yellow cards, 17-8 on fouls)

Other than the first half hour, Everton were superior - while maybe 2-0 flattered us, we still deserved to win. The margin of victory didn't really matter to us.

Teams are closing our defence down quickly so we can't play it out from the back as much, Silva needs to adapt to this.

    Lookman looked good.

I thought the ref was poor towards us but in saying that Gomes should of saw Red and Silva should of taken him off after the first time he got lucky.

Pickford needs to lose the attitude and become more a team player, he is a bit dangerous at the moment.

team seamed to push on in second half - played with a bit of pride - thats what we all want , thers no doubt thers a talented bunch of players ther, but too many like Schneidrlin , Walcott who seam happy to pick up a wage and give 50 % - until they shape up the likes of Lookman should be given more time , otherwise time will be up for Silva.

Lose to Millwall and Silva is under big pressure and the fans will be on his back. That was terrible today

The trouble is who is available that will come to Everton - Mourihno ?? - might be a worth a punt , where he could restore his reputation - a longshot for sure

I don’t think the board will change managers again so soon. It would be madness to make another large payout so soon. Lose to Millwall next week and there’ll be a huge ****show.

I think they'd have to stick with him for at least one more season. Nobody with any interest other than an easy payoff would take the job if he was fired at this stage...

well given how much has been wasted on players , think it would be small potatoes - I wanted Silva to work , but it was a gamble , as his record was all short term - up onto Liverppol it all seamed going ok , but someone has to turn a hairdryer on Walcott/ Schneiderlinn and the rest of the over-paid under performing prima-donnas. I think Matrinez was better than what we have now

The fact that we need to sell to buy leads me to believe that Financial Fair Play will become an issue so they need to balance to books. Throwing money at the problem hasn’t worked up to now, I don’t see how it’s going to change what’s happening.

You’re probably right about the hairdryer treatment, some players need to have a good look at themselves.

We cant sack him, we need to give a manager a chance, at least 3 years.

he can join the line for the hairdryer , behind Schneiderlin and Walcott - what a collection of under-achievers we have amassed

    28m was it.
    Schneirderlan 20m
    Walcott 20m
    Tosun 26m
    Klassan 24m
    Williams 11m
    Sandro 5m
    Keane 25m
    Siggy 45m
    Vlasic 10m
    Mina 28m
    Richarlison 35m
    Digne 16m
    Pickford 30m
    Onyekuru 7m
    Lookman 10m
    Gueye 7m
Has a club ever spent so much to stay still. Only about 3 of them look decent value

I wonder would we be any worse off had Martinez been given that spending money rather than what Everton subsequently went on do

He'd already run out of Wigan players he could buy
Still can't believe we signed McGeady

I can't believe we bought Schneirlinn/Walcott/Bolassi/Williams/ and on and on

Given what followed and the money spent, Martinezs football was much more entertaining , he had a football plan - the last 4 managers have looked clueless, given money spent.

With a real budget who knows who he might have signed.

    Pointless discussion anyway

    I want Arteta

anyone know where might be the best place to get a ticket for the game against Liverpool on 2nd March?

the football played in Martinezs first year was way ahead of anything that followed , and cost about 100 million less - anyway your right - its the past - I'd like Eddie Howe given a go at a bigger club.

Doubt you'll get tickets. Few on stub hub for big money https://www.stubhub.ie/everton-tickets-everton-liverpool-goodison-park-2-3-2019/event/103658024/?sort=price+asc&qqd=1&qtyq=false

If they keep playing the way they are now lads will be throwing tickets at you. But honestly I couldn't see you getting a ticket on the day.

sure i'll keep my eye on stub hub, looks like the best place. only a few crap seats on there now at silly money. one good seat for just over a 100 which i would pay, but you have to buy 3 of them!!!!!

seem to be loads of tickets for kids and seniors :(

From what's being reported, he cancelled his own loan! Maybe he felt it'll be a lot handier to not have to play at all and pick up his wages until the end of his contract rather than having to play in the Championship? He wasn't even a regular starter for Villa, so I can't see why he'd think he'd get a look-in at Everton, despite how things are going...

You sir are a legend. many, many thanks.
I checked Stubhub again this evening and got a ticket, Main Stand, Block 2.
Pretty decent looking seat by the looks of it.
But the real beauty was, it was only £50 + £12 charge. Says £50 face value. Happy as a pig in schtum!

I never would have thought to look at stubhub. I have to pick it up at the box office beforehand, so I'm sure it is genuine. I've never used Stubhub before.

Thanks again, always been a dream of mine to get to a Merseyside derby ever since the 80's. Mind you, they were possibly some of the best matches of the league back then.
