Apprenticeship without doing junior cert?

Hi, I'm 32 and so sick of my life and being miserable, my job is one thing that I don't like, I know 32 is probably too old to start but if it's something I would enjoy I'd do it.

I've searched online about finding them or doing it as a mature student, they say that you need to have minimum of a junior cert? I left school before I done that. Is it possible to get a apprenticeship not having done the junior cert?

Thank you for any help have tried to search online but can't find the right answer.

Friend of mine became a mechanic in his 30's, but he had a leaving, you might be able to manage it if you can find the right sponsor. Best of luck

    32 is not old.

    People continuously change career direction.

You just need to be willing to study and perhaps take a pay cut.

Regarding your question, you don't need a Junior Cert.

    From Citizens Information:

    "Rules
To be eligible for an apprenticeship, you must be at least 16 years of age and you are expected to have a minimum of grade D in 5 subjects in the Junior Certificate or equivalent exam. However, higher educational qualifications and other requirements may be required by employers.

If you don't have these qualifications, you may still register as an apprentice with an employer if you:

Complete an approved preparatory training course followed by an assessment interview.
Are over 18 years of age and have at least 3 years of relevant work experience, in which case you will also be asked to do an assessment interview.
You will be asked to pass a colour-vision test for some apprenticeships."

    So you have a shot.
