Having contacted companies online and gotten quotes for 125€+ for gutter cleaning, I thought I'd ask here as well.

    Any recommendations for South Dublin?
Also, what's the going rate on this?

    Thank you!

If they are getting up on a ladder you should be looking for proof of insurance. Genuine companies with insurance cost more than a guy on the road dole doing cash in hand work

    Thanks for the advice!

Do you also have any recommendations?

I usually do my own, long handle, and a small brush bent to shape to clean it,

It's the getting up a tall ladder part that I'd like to avoid unfortunately.

This is probably a silly question, however, what constitutes proof of insurance?

What details would you take down? Would you generally take a photo of said proof?

A tradesman insurance. Stating what they do for example plumber, electrician, General builder and gutter cleaning.

It's worth noting that an electrician who isn't registered with RECI can't work on the fuseboad and his insurance doesn't cover him to. A non RGI plumber can't work on gas. Even if he is fully insured they will not pay out for gas work.

Ladder work is a two man job. One up on the ladder and one holding the ladder. Sky engineers bolt the ladder to your house. Anyone get up on a ladder on their own is taking risks. If they take these risks on your property you need to ensure that they are insured.

For big jobs like house extensions I'd actually phone their insurance company checking that the policy is still valid
