    Folks,
Came across this project during the week and posting it here in case anyone had any interest in planting up parts of their land or gardens with native Irish trees, shelter belts or hedgerows. It doesn't have the grant/premium that the GLAS scheme offers so might be more suited to people planting for amenity reasons.
I'm not a farmer but have a (very) small bit of land that came with the house which isn't great quality - rushes, poorly drained in places which I'm going to stick a few more trees into with a view to using some of them as a firewood source in years to come. I understand people have mixed views regarding the planting of farm land but thought this was good value for native trees - 21€ for 50 saplings mix of oak, birch, hazel, scots pine, alder, rowan, hawthorn and crab apple.
